😷 Companies across the U.S. continue their efforts to put workers back into offices. Wells Fargo & Co., American Express, and Meta Platforms are planning to transition employees back to in-person locations this month as Omicron cases continue to fall. Given nearly 2-years of primarily remote work, it’s interesting to see how this shift will impact overall firm productivity and employee satisfaction. (source)
🖥️ Google CEO Sundar Pichai believes the workforce will truly never be the same, suggesting flexibility between in-person and remote work will be most beneficial to both firms and employees. A flexible work schedule, according to Pichai, will bring out the best in the highly-motivated employees at Google, a strategy that may pave the way for many other companies moving forward. (source)
📋 Better.com recently fired 3,000 of its employees, with CEO Vishal Garg receiving backlash for not just the number, but the manner in which he let these employees go. Many former employees continue to speak out against this move, including Amanda Bullard, who says her computer shut off in the midst of helping a client. Little did she know that client would be her last. (source)
