LinkedIn Instructor Tour
Last week, AJ Eckstein (the founder of The Final Round) was invited to the LinkedIn Learning Instructors Event in New York City. At the event, he had the opportunity to tour the amazing office in the Empire State Building, meet with other thoughts leaders, creators, and professors, and discuss the future of LinkedIn Learning with executives at the company.
You may not feel as though you’re the “most qualified” to attend an event, message a person on LinkedIn, or apply for a job. However, the truth is, many others likely feel the same way—and it’s those who step out of their comfort zone who will succeed.
Having the courage to show you belong, and that you deserve an opportunity, are the key to creating more opportunities for yourself.

The 5 Keys to Confidence
Confidence is not something that comes easy to everyone. In a world where everyone’s ideal image is portrayed on social media, you’re not the only one dealing with stress, problems, and self-esteem questions.
Regardless of your confidence level, there’s always room for improvement. That’s why we’ve researched some of the best ways to boost your confidence, whether you’re at the workplace, applying for a job, or exploring a new opportunity.
Don’t compare yourself to others: few people show their true selves in a public setting, particularly in the age of social media. People are dealing with their fair share of problems too, whether you know it or not. Focusing on and improving yourself, rather than comparing yourself to others, will put you on the best path to achieving better confidence.
Don’t always rely on your mind: our brains store information based on how we digest situations, not on the reality of them. Therefore, if you have low self-esteem, your brain will likely analyze these situations in a more negative manner. It’s important to speak with others you trust, helping you obtain a better perspective on the situation.
Accept criticism: similar to the last point, hearing what others have to say about a situation is very important to helping you achieve better confidence. However, it’s just as important that you’re ready to improve upon your weaknesses. Those closest to you are willing to help you improve so give them a chance to help.
Fake it till you make it: many times in your life, you won’t be prepared for a challenge or new opportunity. From meeting someone new to working a new job, life wasn’t meant to be challenge-free. One of the best ways to appear (and even feel) more confident is to “fake it till you make it.” Go into every challenge with a smile, keep your head up, and reinforce positive thoughts. Imitating confidence will actually help you build confidence.
Be Curious and Intuitive: exposing yourself to new situations will change how you think, how you act, and how you see the world. The more unique situations you place yourself in, the better off you’ll be when faced with similar challenges in the future. So don’t be afraid to experience something new. Even if you fail the first few times around, you’ll get a little better each time.
